Ant & Jen’s Wedding, Ascension Osteria, Matakana
On their wedding day, this couple’s warmth and kindness was clearly visible in the little moments they shared with each other, and with their amazing group of family and friends.
This sweet, sweet couple were married on a super sunny Saturday amongst the lush green vines and Mediterranean inspired buildings at the beautiful Ascension Osteria, just north of Auckland, between Warkworth and Matakana.
Ant and Jen are both psychologists and met at work. Both their kindness and passion for working with people came across to me the first time I met them. Their first date was to see a Harry Potter movie, which Jen has a slight obsession for! There were subtle Harry Potter themes throughout the day; blue was their themed color. The bridesmaids’ dresses and bouquets were blue, and I even managed to include a blue smoke bomb for them!
Details can really make a wedding special and memorable. Ant’s extremely thoughtful gift basket to Jen was, of course, Harry Potter themed. There was a special Harry Potter candle to burn while she was getting ready, and a handwritten letter telling Jen how much he was looking forward to being with her for the rest of his life.
These guys are a chilled out, warm and wonderful couple, who were willing to indulge my photo location choices, slipping through fences, being surrounded by gorse and holes in the ground, so I could capture these beautiful images. I treasure the trust my couples put in me to find the best locations for them, even if it seems a little crazy at the time!
Throughout the day, the little kisses and shared private jokes were many. They are now expecting their first baby and I wish them all the very best in their next adventure! The love and genuine relationship these two have is something to be cherished, and I know it will for all the years they have to come.
